Training Tracks at the SSCC

The SSCC’s training is meant to complement the formal coursework in analysis that is part of most graduate programs. It teaches both software tools for working with data and the data wrangling skills needed to put real-world data in a form that can be analyzed. Completing this training will give you a complete set of data wrangling skills and prepare you to do research.

We offer this training in R and Stata, and parts of it in Python. Introduction and data wrangling fundamentals workshops in R and Stata are taught every semester, and topical workshops in rotation. Python is typically taught in the summer. See the SSCC’s training schedule for current offerings. The materials are also available online so you can work through it on your own at any time.
