We consult with researchers on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preparing data sets for analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choosing statistical techniques to answer research questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interpreting statistical output<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using statistical software and debugging code<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Running jobs on the SSCC\u2019s servers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying the computing resources needed for your research (SSCC or not)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are experts in R and Stata, and can support MPlus, Python, SAS, and SPSS. We\u2019ll do our best to help you run other jobs on the SSCC\u2019s servers, such as Julia or Matlab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are here to help you, but our consulting cannot replace coursework or serious study of statistics and programming, or guidance from a faculty advisor or other expert in your field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are teaching a class that uses statistical software in the Social Science division of the College of Letters and Science, we can give your students a brief introduction to any of the packages we support. We are also available for the occasional guest lecture. Email the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sscc.wisc.edu\/get-help\/\">Help Desk<\/a> to make arrangements. Your students can also come to us for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SSCC\u2019s consulting services are available for free to members of the Social Science Computing Cooperative.
