Winstat provides convenient access to statistical software from any location using your own Windows PC, Mac, Linux computer, or even iPad. Programs are run using the server\u2019s powerful hardware. Winstat also provides convenient remote access to files stored on the SSCC\u2019s network disk space. (<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.wisc.edu\/sscc\/using-winstat\">Using Winstat)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Linstat<\/strong>, the SSCC\u2019s interactive Linux computing cluster. Linstat features a web-based graphical desktop using <a href=\"https:\/\/ondemand.sscc.wisc.edu\">OnDemand<\/a> and easy-to-use tools like RStudio Server and JupyterLab as well as traditional login shells, with much more computing power than Winstat (or your laptop). (<a href=\"https:\/\/sscc.wisc.edu\/sscc\/pubs\/grc\/\">Guide to Research Computing at the SSCC<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>SSCC Slurm cluster<\/strong> allows researchers to run long jobs, multiple jobs at the same time, or jobs that use multiple nodes. GPUs are also available. <a href=\"https:\/\/sscc.wisc.edu\/sscc\/pubs\/grc\/\">(Guide to Research Computing at the SSCC<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Silo<\/strong>, SSCC\u2019s restricted data environment. Silo allows researchers to analyze sensitive data, including data covered by HIPAA. Servers include WinSilo (similar to Winstat), LinSilo (similar to Linstat), and SlurmSilo (similar to the regular SSCC Slurm cluster, including GPUs). (<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.wisc.edu\/sscc\/using-silo\">Using Silo<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Network Disk Space<\/strong>\u00a0that is large, secure, and backed up nightly. Space is provided in both private home directories and shared \u201cproject\u201d directories. (<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.wisc.edu\/sscc\/102660\">Network Disk Space at the SSCC<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ResearchDrive<\/strong> is a University-funded and DoIT-provided data storage system available to all faculty PIs and academic staff with permanent PI status, and their research teams. All of the SSCC\u2019s servers can work with data on ReearchDrive. (<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.wisc.edu\/sscc\/102687\">ResearchDrive<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Statistical Software<\/strong>, including Stata, R, Python, Julia, SAS, SPSS, HLM, NVivo, and many more. The SSCC purchases all the licenses and makes the software available on servers so there\u2019s no need to buy your own copy or install it on your computer. (<a href=\"https:\/\/my.sscc.wisc.edu\/software_assets\/user_index\">SSCC Software Database<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>Help Desk<\/strong> for general assistance using SSCC resources. (<a href=\"https:\/\/sscc.wisc.edu\/get-help\">Get Help<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><br><strong>Statistical Consultants\/Facilitators<\/strong> who are experts on the most popular statistical software and can answer many methodological questions, as well as help you use the SSCC\u2019s servers effectively. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sscc.wisc.edu\/statistics\/statistical-consulting\/\">Statistical Consulting<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><br><strong>Training<\/strong>\u00a0on statistical computing, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssc.wisc.edu\/sscc_jsp\/training\/\">workshops\u00a0<\/a>and an extensive\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sscc.wisc.edu\/statistics\/\">Statistical Computing Knowledge Base<\/a>. (SSCC training is open to anyone associated with UW\u2013Madison, not just members.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><br><strong>Custom Windows and Linux servers<\/strong> tailored to the needs of your research project.
